Gina Bergfeld, CPA, is Associate Professor of Economics and Business at Hendrix College, a position to which she was promoted in 2021 when she was also awarded tenure. She joined the faculty in 2015 as Visiting Instructor of Economics and Business. Bergfeld currently serves as Chair of the Department of Economics and Business and as Chair of the Master of Arts in Accounting Program. Bergfeld earned a B.A. from Hendrix College in 2003 and an M.A. from Hendrix College in 2004. She became a Certified Public Accountant in Arkansas in 2006. As a Hendrix College alumna, she has held various leadership positions within the institution. During the 2018-2019 academic year, Bergfeld served on the Hendrix College Human Subjects Review Board as an assistant professor in Business and Economics, representing social sciences with a non-scientific specialty. In February 2019, she advised an Odyssey Grant for student Larissa Isimbi Ndimbira to intern at Inyange Industries, one of Rwanda's largest food processing companies. Bergfeld chaired a standing committee during Fall 2021, meeting with Assistant Dean of Students Michael LeBlanc for training. She appears as Chair for Economics and Business in faculty handbooks for multiple years, including 2019-2020, 2021-2022, and 2023-2024. Her office is Mills 227, and she uses she/her/hers pronouns.
