Gosia Stasinski is a Lecturer in the Curtin School of Population Health within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University, based in Room 357, Building 400 (Population Health) on the Curtin Perth campus. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) (BSc(Psych)) and a Master of Psychology (Counselling Psychology) (MPsych), both from Curtin University. These credentials support her teaching in psychology programs, including the Master of Psychology (Professional).
Beginning her career as a Counselling Psychologist in 2002, Stasinski has worked in educational institutions, detention centres for asylum seekers, private organisations, and the Department of Justice Corrective Services, specialising in psychological assessments for courts. In private practice in Applecross, she treats diverse clients of all ages and cultural backgrounds for issues including anger management, anxiety, depression, forensic psychology matters, general counselling, grief and loss, identity problems, parenting, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychotherapy, relaxation training, trauma, and women's issues. Her therapeutic approaches include cognitive-behavioural therapy, existential, humanistic, integrative, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and psychotherapy, targeting adults, women, men, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities. An AHPRA board-approved supervisor, she also serves as Treasurer of the Western Australian Committee of the Australian Psychological Society College of Counselling Psychologists. She champions the vital role of Counselling Psychology in mental health, emphasising the therapeutic relationship as a key change agent.
