Dr. Hilman Harryanto is a consultant respiratory and sleep medicine physician based in Perth, Western Australia. He earned his Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (B Med Sci MBBS) from the Australian National University, graduating in 2011. He completed his early postgraduate medical training at The Canberra Hospital before undertaking advanced specialist training in respiratory medicine at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. There, he developed proficiency in managing a wide array of respiratory conditions. In 2019, Dr. Harryanto was awarded a prestigious fellowship by the WA Cancer Council and Palliative Care Network, enabling him to complete a comprehensive lung cancer interventional fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and maintains affiliations with the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Fiona Stanley Hospital and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Medical School, University of Western Australia.
Dr. Harryanto's clinical expertise spans general respiratory disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, bronchiectasis, and interstitial lung disease, with a subspecialty focus on thoracic oncology, pulmonary nodule assessment, complex airway diseases, and lung cancer management. He specializes in the rapid assessment, investigation, and surveillance of suspected lung cancer, as well as procedural interventions for pulmonary complications including malignant pleural effusions and haemoptysis. His procedural skills include endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) bronchoscopy, navigational bronchoscopy, and pleuroscopy. He contributes to multidisciplinary care pathways and continuing medical education, developing teaching resources for healthcare professionals. His research specializations encompass pulmonary medicine, interventional pulmonology, thoracic diseases, airway obstruction, malignant pleural effusions, and lung diseases.
