Professor Hiroshi Takata serves as a professor in the Faculty of Business Administration at Osaka Gakuin University, particularly within the Hospitality Management Department. His expertise lies in hotel management, bridal events, and hospitality. Takata graduated from the Faculty of Sociology at Kwansei Gakuin University in 1981. He began his professional career at Royal Hotel Co., Ltd., ascending through various leadership roles over nearly four decades. These positions included General Manager of Nodaiji Hotel Nara (also serving as Director of Royal Hotel Co., Ltd.), Deputy General Manager and Quality Management Director at Le Royal Hotel Osaka (Executive Officer, Royal Hotel Co., Ltd.), Marketing Director at Le Royal Hotel (Executive Officer), General Manager of Le Royal Hotel Tokyo (Executive Officer), General Manager of Urban Center Hotel (Executive Officer, Tokyo Royal Hotel Co., Ltd.), Director of Sales Planning, and Director of Public Relations Design. Prior to joining Osaka Gakuin University, he was a Specially Appointed Professor in the Department of Tourism, Faculty of Human Society, at Ryutsu Keizai University.
Takata's research focuses on regional tourism and hotels, exemplified by studies on Nara; challenges faced by Japanese hotels in accommodating affluent customers; and the history of hotels in Osaka. Notable publications include 'The Significance and Challenges of the National Qualification Hotel Management Skills Certification,' published in the Ryutsu Keizai University Bulletin in September 2020, and co-authored with Junichiro Tokue, 'Osaka Hotel History ~Focusing on Historical Guesthouse Hotels~,' featured in the Japan International Tourism Society Proceedings in March 2023. He holds key roles such as Secretary-General of Hospitality Management Studies, secretariat for Hotel Facility Management, and membership in the Japan International Tourism Society. Takata frequently delivers guest lectures on topics like hotel general management theory.
