Dr. Huan Vo-Tran serves as Head of Department, Information Systems in the School of Accounting, Information Systems and Supply Chain within RMIT University's College of Business and Law. Holding a PhD from RMIT University, his doctoral thesis titled 'Information management and sharing practices within a construction project process' was completed in 2014 in the Graduate School of Business and Law. An experienced academic leader, researcher, and educator, Dr. Vo-Tran focuses on innovation in business analytics, information management, artificial intelligence strategy, and digital transformation. His research interests include library and information studies, business and management, specialist studies in education, education systems, and other education. Teaching interests encompass information management, information sharing, and knowledge management. Previously, as Higher Degree by Research Coordinator, he advanced the department's research agenda, mentored emerging scholars, and facilitated impactful collaborations.
Dr. Vo-Tran has co-designed and delivered key programs including the Master of Business Analytics and AI Strategy, Master of Commerce, and Master of Business IT, ensuring alignment with industry requirements to equip students for the evolving workforce. His leadership positions the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics at the forefront of educational technology strategy and industry-aligned curriculum development, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. He supervises Masters and PhD students on diverse topics such as blockchain for patient medical history disclosure, gamification in higher education, information practices for research capacity building among Saudi female academics, bibliotherapy innovations, social media disclosures during COVID-19, Asian international students' library experiences, BIM technology adoption in construction, causes of large-scale IT project failures, power dynamics in humanitarian supply chains, and logistics career satisfaction in China. Key publications include 'Crossing Borders: Evaluating a Work Integrated Learning Project Involving Australian and Vietnamese Students' (2012), 'Piloting a hybrid work integrated learning model to enhance Dual Hub student collaborations in an international work context' (2011), 'Adding Action to the Information Audit' (2011), and contributions to 'Digital Literacy Programs in Support of Diverse Communities' (2022) and 'Utilisation of voluntary disclosure via social media as a strategic response to COVID-19' (2024).
