Dr. Isaac Slaven is a Professor in the School of Technology at Eastern Illinois University, where he holds the positions of Engineering Technology Coordinator and Chair of the Center for Clean Energy Research and Education (CENCERE). He completed his academic training at Purdue University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Wood Products Manufacturing Technology, a Master of Science in Technology, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Forestry and Natural Resources with a focus on Wood Science and Utilization.
Slaven's research interests encompass the strength degradation of life safety equipment and materials and energy efficiency. His scholarly contributions include co-authoring "The Impact of Cervid Herbivory on Industrial Fiber Hemp in East Central Illinois" with Nicholas C. At the university, he instructs courses such as Applied Research in Technology, Energy Technology, Machine Design, Renewable Energy Systems, and Safety, and directs graduate theses on sustainable hemp applications and related innovations.
