Dr. Jane Chong holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from the University of Western Australia (UWA), where she serves as a Lecturer and Organisational Psychologist Registrar in the School of Psychological Science within the Faculty of Science. She is also an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Future of Work Institute, Curtin University, since January 2024. Chong’s research specializations include work motivation, newcomer socialisation, and age diversity and inclusion. She collaborates with organisations to conduct research and implement interventions aimed at enhancing employee work experiences and contributes to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals such as Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Reduced Inequalities.
Chong has received numerous awards recognizing her research and teaching excellence, including the 2025 UWA Vice-Chancellor’s Awards: School of Psychological Science Early-Career Research Award; 2024 Curtin University Faculty of Business and Law Research Awards for Industry Project of the Year and 2023 Curtin University School of Management and Marketing Research Awards for Industry Project of the Year, both for “Designing SMARTer work to reduce psychosocial risks: Evaluating the effectiveness of a participatory work-redesign intervention in aged care”; 2021 UWA School of Psychological Science Award for Excellent PhD Thesis in Psychology; 2020 UWA Faculty of Science Teaching Award for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning; 2020 Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology Graduate Student Scholarship; 2020 Australian Psychological Society College of Organisational Psychologists National Postgraduate Student Award; and the 2017 Best Paper: Individual Research Paper at the Australian Psychological Society Industrial and Organisational Psychology Conference.
