Jenna Starck serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She holds key leadership roles including Physical Education Teaching Graduate Program Director, Adventure Education & Outdoor Pursuits Emphasis Director, and Program Director for the Adventure program. Additionally, she is Vice Chair of the College of Science and Health College Committee and Assistant Women's Track & Field Coach. Starck earned her Ph.D. in Kinesiology: Sport Pedagogy from The University of Alabama in 2018, M.S. in Physical Education Teaching with an emphasis in Adventure Education and Outdoor Pursuits from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2013, and B.S. in Physical Education & Adapted Physical Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2010.
Her research specializations encompass assessment literacy, adventure education, social and emotional learning, and occupational socialization theory, with additional interests in educational assessment, qualitative methods, teaching and learning, blended learning, professional development, curriculum development, experiential learning, and pre-service teachers in physical education.
