Jennifer R. Antick, PhD, serves as Professor and Co-Director of the Health Psychology Emphasis in the School of Graduate Psychology at Pacific University, a position she has held since 2000. She instructs in the Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program, offering courses such as Health Psychology, Brief Psychotherapies, Psychological Assessment and Treatment of Chronic Pain, and Health Psychology Track Seminar. Antick obtained her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1995, her MA in Pre-Clinical Psychology from Chapman University in 1990, and her BA in Psychology from Chapman University in 1987, during which she was named a C.C. Chapman Scholar. Licensed as a psychologist in both Oregon and Washington states, she contributes to clinical training and serves as a dissertation chair for graduate students.
Antick's research interests encompass medical decision-making, organ transplantation, resilience, strengths-based assessment and treatment, and coping with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Her specializations include health psychology, behavioral medicine, motivational interviewing, pain management, psychological resilience, and psycho-oncology. Notable publications co-authored by Antick include "Depression Screening Tools for Patients with Kidney Failure: A Systematic Review" (2020), "The Effectiveness of Depression Treatment for Adults with ESKD: A Systematic Review" (2021), "Behavioral Case Formulation" (2017), "Perceptions of Perinatal Loss: Miscarriage versus Stillbirth" (2009), and "Physiological Responses to Violence Reported in the News" (2008). She has delivered presentations at conferences including the Society of Behavioral Medicine and Western Psychological Association, covering topics such as the Metacognitive Scale for Insomnia, health beliefs related to HPV vaccination, attentional bias and thought suppression in chronic pain, the influence of natural elements on patient anxiety in pain clinics, and the integration of adaptive yoga in interdisciplinary pain programs. Antick holds memberships in APA Division 38 (Health Psychology), the Western Psychological Association, and the Society for Behavioral Medicine.
