Jennifer Bimrose is an Associate Lecturer in Nursing in the School of Health at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of the Sunshine Coast, and is currently completing a Master of Nursing (Clinical Leadership) at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Bimrose brings over 17 years of clinical experience in emergency nursing, rural and remote practice, and palliative care to her academic role. She joined the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2018 as a sessional academic and has progressed to her current position as Associate Lecturer. In this capacity, she serves as Course Coordinator for Clinical Connections, where she supports undergraduate nursing students across all year levels, particularly those returning to clinical placements after study interruptions. Her dedication to fostering a supportive learning environment underscores her commitment to preparing the next generation of nurses for professional practice.
Bimrose teaches a range of undergraduate courses, including NUR105 Clinical Connections, NUR200 Clinical Connections, NUR305 Clinical Connections, NUR226 Preparation for Practice 2, NUR286 Preparation for Practice 3, and NUR303 Preparation for Practice 4. Her research interests focus on interprofessional education and digital health integration, with contributions to areas such as delirium care and gerontology. Notable publications include "Nurses Must Improve Delirium Care: A Call to Action," published in the Journal of Clinical Nursing in 2025 (co-authored with V. Traynor, B. Ho, S.J. Neville, and others), and "What Will It Take? Triangulating Stakeholder Perspectives on Smart Home Technologies for Older Adults," presented at the Proceedings of the 58th Australian Association of Gerontology Conference in 2025 (co-authored with R.L. Fritz and others). She has earned an Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, recognizing her excellence in teaching and learning support. Bimrose is a member of the Australian College of Nursing. Her professional contributions extend to creating engaging educational experiences informed by her extensive clinical background.
