Dr Jennifer Kosiol is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management within Griffith Business School at Griffith University. A qualified lawyer and registered nurse, she possesses over 30 years of professional experience in the healthcare sector. Her academic qualifications include a PhD in International Business and Asian Studies completed at Griffith University in 2020, a Master of Business Administration (International Business) from Griffith Business School obtained between 2015 and 2017, a Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching, and a Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management. In her current roles, she serves as Program Director for the Master of Advanced Health Services Management and the Leading Health Service Innovation program, fostering advanced education and professional development in health leadership and innovation.
As a health systems scholar, Dr Kosiol's research investigates how leadership, organisational culture, and governance mechanisms support innovation, resilience, and value generation within health services. Her prominent publications encompass "Revolutionising health and social care: innovative solutions for a brighter tomorrow – a systematic review of the literature" published in BMC Health Services Research in 2024 (cited by 52), "A new strategic perspective for public health service managers" in the Asia Pacific Journal of Health Management in 2023 (cited by 37), "Pandemic Preparedness in the Aged Care Sector: A systematic literature review" in 2023, "Protocol for leading health services innovation: a hybrid type 2 implementation-effectiveness study" in BMC Medical Education in 2024, "Leveraging experience-based co-design to support an innovative health workforce: a graduate certificate in health services innovation case study" in BMC Medical Education in 2026, and the book chapter "Evaluating the economics of health programs and interventions" in Value-Based Healthcare in 2024. She convenes the course Leadership in Management for Health Services (7411MED). Dr Kosiol received the Griffith University Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2025. She is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management (FCHSM CHE) and holds the position of Queensland Branch Treasurer for ACHSM. Her contributions extend to areas such as intergenerational practice programs and consumer engagement in health services, influencing health management practices and policy.
