Jennifer Robles, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Urology in the School of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she specializes in endourology and stone disease. She holds the positions of Surgical Quality Officer and Chief of Urology at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. Her clinical practice emphasizes minimally invasive surgical management of kidney masses, kidney stones, hydronephrosis, ureteral abnormalities, and obstructions. Robles earned her B.A. from Rice University and M.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2011. She completed her urology residency at Washington University in St. Louis from 2011 to 2016, followed by a fellowship in Endourology and Laparoscopic/Robotic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from 2016 to 2019. During this period, she also completed a research fellowship in Quality Improvement through the Veterans Affairs Quality Scholars program at East Tennessee State University/Quillen College of Medicine and obtained her MPH from Vanderbilt School of Public Health in 2019.
Robles served as the American Urological Association Science and Quality Fellow from 2018 to 2020 and is a current member of the AUA Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Committee. Her research focuses on quality improvement in surgical patient care, including perioperative pain management, opioid use reduction, and regional disparities in Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) adoption. Notable publications include "Niche No More? Mapping US Trends and Regional Disparities in Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate from 2018 to 2022" (Journal of Endourology, 2025), "Multiorganizational consensus to define guiding principles for perioperative pain management in patients with chronic pain, preoperative opioid tolerance, or substance use disorder" (Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, 2024), "Mind the Gaps: Adoption and Underutilization of Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate" (2020), and "Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Protocol for Patients Undergoing Ureteroscopy: Prospective Evaluation of an Opioid-Free Protocol" (Journal of Endourology, 2020). She is board-certified in Urology by the American Board of Urology. Through her roles and contributions, Robles advances systems-based enhancements in urologic surgical quality and patient safety.
