Rate My Professor Jeremy Moorshead

Jeremy Moorshead is Principal Lecturer in Digital Screen Arts at Nottingham Trent University in the Nottingham School of Art and Design. He has oversight of the BA (Hons) and MA Animation courses and the BA (Hons) Filmmaking course and teaches on animation modules specialising in animated storytelling, pre-production, production workflow and drawing. He studied BA (Hons) Fine Art at Trent Polytechnic specialising in filmmaking and animation and earned an MFA in Computer Art at Savannah College of Art and Design. Moorshead previously served as Associate Lecturer in Animation at Anglia Ruskin University, Professor of Animation and Department Chair at Savannah College of Art and Design, Animation Technical Instructor at the Royal College of Art, and held teaching positions at the National Film and Television School, Liverpool Polytechnic and Savannah Arts Academy. He worked at the Royal College of Art for ten years before moving to the United States in 1999 where he led the Animation Department of more than 700 students for eight years and returned to the United Kingdom in 2016.

His research interests include narrative codification in short-form animated storytelling and pedagogical strategies in animated storytelling. In 1998 he received a BAFTA nomination in the Best Short Animated Film Award category and a Cartoon d’Or Award nomination as producer of the Channel 4 commissioned film el Caminante. He has contributed articles and interview pieces to 3D World Magazine. Moorshead also serves as Academic Liaison Tutor for the BA (Hons) Digital Media Design and FdA Digital Design courses at Nottingham College.
