About Jiong-Wei

Dr. Jiong-Wei Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Surgery and Physiology (joint appointment) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). He also holds joint appointments at the Cardiovascular Research Institute and the Nanomedicine Translational Research Program. Dr. Wang obtained his PhD degree in Medicine from the Leiden University Medical Centre in The Netherlands in 2013. Following postdoctoral training at University Medical Center Utrecht in The Netherlands and at NUS, he joined the NUS faculty as an Assistant Professor in July 2019. In addition to his academic appointments, Dr. Wang serves as Chairperson for Department Safety and Health and as a committee member for Safety and Health at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

His research has received support from the National Medical Research Council, the Ministry of Education, and NUS/NUHS. Dr. Wang has received the Young Investigator Award from the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis on three occasions, travel awards from the European Society of Cardiology on two occasions, the Outstanding Mentor Award in 2019 from the Wong Hock Boon Society–Singapore Medical Association Charity Fund, and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Young Researcher of the Year Award for 2023. He is a member of the European Society of Cardiology and serves on the editorial boards of Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, Heliyon, Biology (Basel), the International Journal of Drug Discovery and Pharmacology, and the Journal of Laboratory and Precision Medicine. He has also acted as an invited guest editor and as a reviewer for numerous journals and funding bodies.
