About Jon

Professor Jon Wardle is Foundation Director of the National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine and Maurice Blackmore Chair of Naturopathic Medicine at Southern Cross University. He holds the position of Professor of Public Health. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science from the Australian College of Natural Medicine, a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Economics, a Master of Health and Medical Law from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Public Health from the University of Queensland, and a PhD from the University of Queensland. In addition to clinical qualifications in nursing and naturopathic medicine, he maintains visiting positions at Boston University, the University of Washington, and the University of Oxford.

Professor Wardle has authored more than 200 academic publications and serves on the editorial boards of eight peer-reviewed international journals, including as Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Integrative Medicine. He convenes the Public Health Association of Australia’s special interest group in complementary medicine, serves on its Research Advisory Committee, and holds an executive role in the American Public Health Association’s integrative health section. He leads initiatives on integrative medicine through the World Federation of Public Health Associations and the World Health Organization, and is deputy chair of the National Health and Medical Research Council’s Natural Therapies Working Committee. His work focuses on integrative medicine, public health, and primary health care policy and regulation in collaboration with governments, non-government organisations, and international bodies.
