Jonathan Lee Wei Jie is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a Senior Consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the National University Hospital (NUH). He heads the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Unit at the National University Centre for Digestive Health. Dr. Lee holds a BSc (Hons) and MBBS (Hons) from the University of New South Wales, Australia, MRCP (UK), MCI and PhD from NUS, and FAMS in Gastroenterology. His career includes a two-year research fellowship at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and a fellowship in image-enhanced endoscopy at Kyushu University Hospital, Japan.
Dr. Lee serves as Principal Investigator at iHealthtech and SynCTI, and as Director of Research for the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at NUH. His work focuses on translational microbiome research in gastrointestinal diseases, fecal microbiota transplantation, and the integration of artificial intelligence in endoscopy for early cancer detection and quality assurance. He chaired the 2nd International Digestive Endoscopy AI Symposium. In recognition of his clinical contributions, he received the Star Award at the 2026 Singapore Health Quality Service Awards.
