Alcock has produced several peer-reviewed publications contributing to nursing education and emergency care. In 2024, she co-authored "Remediation in clinical practice for student nurses – A scoping review" published in Nurse Education Today with Lynda J. Hughes, Rachel Wardrop, Renee Stone, and Beth Pierce. This work reviewed 20 studies on remediation strategies, highlighting pre-placement preparation, on-placement support, and post-placement follow-up for undergraduate nursing students at risk in clinical practice. Another 2024 publication, "Characteristics and outcomes of emergency department presentations brought in by police with and without an emergency examination authority: A state-wide cohort study" in Australasian Emergency Care, examined patient demographics, clinical characteristics, and outcomes. She also contributed to "People brought to the emergency department under involuntary assessment orders: A scoping review" in 2023, and studies including clinicians' experiences of caring for police-brought patients to the ED and measuring changes in nursing students' workplace performance following feedback. These efforts have resulted in 7 citations and 129 reads on ResearchGate. In her teaching role, Alcock convenes the Complex Clinical Care course (3803NRS) offered in mixed mode at the Logan campus.
