Kari Miller serves as Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology, Division Chair of Social Sciences, and Program Coordinator for Criminal Justice & Criminology and Forensic Science at Kentucky Wesleyan College. She is an alumna of the institution, earning her BA in Psychology from Kentucky Wesleyan College in May 2003. Miller pursued advanced studies in criminal justice and forensic psychology, obtaining her MA in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2007, MA in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University in 2009, and PhD in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University in 2018. Her educational background bridges psychology and criminal justice, providing a strong foundation for her academic career.
Since 2017, Miller has been a faculty member at Kentucky Wesleyan College, teaching a comprehensive array of in-person and online courses in criminal justice, criminology, and psychology. In-person offerings include CJC 230 Global Perspectives on Crime and Justice, CJC 344 Minority Relations, CJC 345 Juvenile Delinquency, CJC 350 Criminology, CJC 380 Research Methods in Criminal Justice, CJC 470 Theoretical Criminology, CJC 480 Advanced Research Methods, PSY 306 Abnormal Psychology, and PSY 321 Forensic Psychology. Her online courses cover CJC/PSY 202 Statistics in the Behavioral Sciences, PSY 304 Psychological Testing, CJC 100 Introduction to Criminal Justice, CJC 210 Criminal Investigation, CJC 320 Judicial Process, CJC 344 Criminal Law, and CJC 499 Senior Seminar. As Division Chair, she leads the Social Sciences division, supporting program coordination and faculty in criminal justice fields. Her work contributes to preparing students for careers in law enforcement, corrections, judicial systems, and policy through hands-on academic training.
