Rate My Professor Karina Gin

Professor Karina Yew-Hoong Gin is a Provost's Chair Professor and Acting Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Melbourne (1988), a Master of Engineering from the National University of Singapore (1991), and a Doctor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1996). Her research focuses on water quality, environmental microbiology, emerging contaminants, and wastewater surveillance, including contributions to COVID-19 monitoring efforts through the NUS Environmental Research Institute. She has received the Covid Resilience Medal for her team's work in this area.

Professor Gin has authored or co-authored numerous publications in her field, with over 13,000 citations recorded on academic databases.
