Keiron Bradley, MBBS, FAChPM, serves as Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Curtin Medical School within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University in Perth, with his appointment spanning from 30 January 2023 to 30 January 2026. This academic position aligns with his primary clinical expertise in palliative medicine. As a Palliative Care Specialist at Bethesda Health Care in Claremont, Western Australia, he delivers specialized care to patients facing advanced and terminal illnesses. Dr Bradley has held significant leadership roles, including Clinical Lead of the WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network and Chair of the palliative care advisory committee for the Western Australian Department of Health. He has contributed to key policy documents such as the WA Cancer Plan 2020-2025 and provided expert evidence to parliamentary inquiries on end-of-life choices, aged care, and palliative services.
Dr Bradley's academic interests and research focus on optimizing symptom control in palliative care, particularly the subcutaneous delivery of medications for managing seizures in patients who cannot tolerate oral administration toward the end of life. His publications highlight practical advancements in this niche area. Key works include 'Management of death rattle: what influences the decision making of palliative medicine doctors and clinical nurse specialists?', published in Palliative Medicine in 2010 (co-authored with Bee Wee and Samar M. Aoun); 'Subcutaneous levetiracetam for the management of seizures at the end of life' in the Journal of Pain and Palliative Care Pharmacotherapy in 2017 (with Jayamangala Sampath Kondasinghe, Mei Ling Look, and Paula Moffat); and 'Subcutaneous Levetiracetam and Sodium Valproate Use in Palliative Care Patients' in the same journal in 2022 (with J. S. Kondasinghe, M. L. Look, and P. Moffat). Further contributions cover the pharmacokinetics and clinical experience of subcutaneous levetiracetam, published between 2020 and 2023. These efforts underscore his influence in improving pharmacological options for seizure management and terminal symptom relief in palliative settings.
