About Kenneth

Kenneth Lee is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Central Clinical School at the University of Sydney, affiliated with Sydney Medical School. He earned his MBChB from the University of Otago, New Zealand, completed pathology training in Auckland in 2006, and holds fellowships as FRCPA and GAICD. His career began with an anatomical pathologist role in private practice in Sydney, alongside a part-time staff specialist position at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. In 2012, he became a full-time staff specialist pathologist, advancing to Director of Anatomical Pathology there in 2016. He later served as Director of Pathology Services at SydPath, St Vincent's Hospital Sydney in 2023, and joined Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology, Sonic Healthcare, as an Anatomical Pathologist in 2024. He also holds an Adjunct Associate Professor appointment at the University of Technology Sydney and serves as Head of the Anatomical Pathology Department at Concord Repatriation General Hospital.

Lee's research specializations include haematopathology, pulmonary pathology, and mesothelioma, with contributions to grant-funded projects at the ANZAC Research Institute on biomarker development. Key publications include 'Actinomyces cavernous sinus infection: a case and systematic review' (2018), 'CD83 is a new potential biomarker and therapeutic target for Hodgkin lymphoma' (2018), 'Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: a consensus practice statement from the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group' (2021), and 'The Use of Immunohistochemistry, Fluorescence in situ Hybridization, and Molecular Analysis in the Diagnosis of Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma' (2020). He has significant influence in the field through his roles as examiner and NSW State Councillor for the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, as well as involvement in advisory committees and discipline examination in anatomical pathology.
