Kim Sneddon is the Senior Project Manager in the Campus Development Division at the University of Otago. She joined the university in 2015, starting in the Property Management Unit where she provided administrative support. In her current role within Capital Works and Property Services, she plays a key part in delivering the division's portfolio of projects, which focus on enhancing campus facilities, improving student living experiences, increasing estate efficiency, and supporting the university's strategic goals. Sneddon works closely with various stakeholders to ensure projects meet high standards and timelines.
Sneddon leads several significant initiatives, including the Aquinas College Extension and the compliance upgrade projects for Arana and Studholm Colleges under the Combined Colleges Programme. She also supports the Te Rangihīroa development, serving as Project Manager for Te Rangihīroa College, the university's first new student accommodation in more than 50 years, designed to house 450 first-year tauira in a bicultural living environment. The project has received prestigious accolades, such as the Aotearoa Construction Project of the Year from the Project Management Institute of New Zealand (PMINZ) and an Excellence Award in the Multi-Unit Residential Property category from the Property Industry Awards. On the progress of room completions, Sneddon noted, 'The first room of the Te Rangihīroa project to be completed is setting the benchmark standard for the rooms to follow.' Earlier in her career at Otago, as Assistant Project Manager, she contributed to the redevelopment of the pharmacy outpatient clinic, which shared resources with the new Virtual Professional Practice Laboratory for the School of Pharmacy. Through her expertise in project management, Kim Sneddon contributes substantially to the physical and functional evolution of the University of Otago's Dunedin campus.
