Kimberly Mohne Hill is the Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance and Professor of Voice & Speech and Acting at Santa Clara University in the College of Arts and Sciences, with a scholarly emphasis in dialects. She earned her MFA in Acting from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and is a Certified Patsy Rodenburg™ Associate in Voice, Speech, and Presence training. Renowned as a voice and dialect coach, she has contributed to over 175 productions at leading Bay Area theaters, including American Conservatory Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, San Jose Repertory Theatre, San Jose Stage Company, and Marin Theatre Company. Key projects include dialect coaching for the world premiere of Pride & Prejudice: The Musical (available on Amazon Prime), Indecent at San Francisco Playhouse (nominated for 2023 Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Specialty-Dialects), world premieres of Triangle and The House that Will Not Stand, and Cabaret and The Yoga Play at San Francisco Playhouse. Her directing credits encompass The Wolves at CityLights Theater Company, The Seafarer at San Jose Stage Company, and assistant directing the world premiere of A Thousand Splendid Suns at American Conservatory Theater and Theatre Calgary. Acting roles include Mrs. Cratchit and Mrs. Fezziwig in A Christmas Carol at San Jose Repertory Theatre.
At Santa Clara University, Mohne Hill teaches Acting, Voice and Speech, Dialects, Improvisation, Musical Theatre, Acting for Non-Majors, and Improv for Engineers, and directs mainstage productions such as 42nd Street, The Book of Will, and The Wolves. She has authored books for young actors on dialects, including Scenes in Dialect for Young Actors, Monologues in Dialect for Young Actors Volumes I and II, and Great Monologues in Dialect for Young Actors (Ages 17-25) Volume II (2013). Her awards include the 2022 Professor Joseph Bayma, S.J., Scholarship Award from Santa Clara University, recognizing her scholarly and creative work, and the 2018 Silicon Valley Artist Laureate from SVCreates. Mohne Hill conducts voice, presence, and storytelling workshops for the university community and organizations such as the Northern California Innocence Project and Koppett Corporate Training, enhancing communication skills across diverse audiences.
