Professor Dr. Ko Ko Soe is the Professor and Head of the Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry at the University of Dental Medicine, Yangon. He holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) from Yangon, a Master of Dental Science (M.D.Sc.) from Yangon, a Ph.D., and is a Fellow of the International College of Continuing Dental Education (F.I.C.C.D.E.). In his leadership role, he oversees academic staff including Associate Professor Dr. Thein Tun Oo, who possesses B.D.S., M.D.Sc. (Ygn), Dr.D.Sc (Preventive and Community Dentistry), and F.I.C.C.D.E., as well as Lecturers Dr. Khin Aye Thant and Dr. Aung Mon, both with B.D.S. and M.D.Sc. (Ygn). His department focuses on advancing knowledge in preventive and community dentistry through research and education tailored to Myanmar's oral health needs.

He has co-authored several key publications, including 'Risk indicators of dental caries and gingivitis among 10-11-year-olds in Myanmar' in the International Dental Journal (2020), 'Effectiveness of a School Oral Health Education Program in Yangon, Myanmar' in the Journal of Pediatric Dentistry (2020), 'Assessment of Oral Health Literacy among Primary School Teachers in Yangon Region' in the Journal of Dental Science UDMY, 'Dental Service Use and Dentition Status among 12-year-old school children,' and contributions to the reliability and validity study of the Myanmar version of the Child Oral Health Impact Profile Short Form. These works often involve collaborations with colleagues such as Thein Tun Oo, Saw Nandar Aung, Khin Aye Thant, and international partners like Yoko Kawaguchi from Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He supervises student theses on topics like oral health education effectiveness in Yangon townships.
