Lee Daffin is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Allied Health at Murdoch University, specializing as Lecturer in Human Anatomy. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy at the University of the Sunshine Coast from 2014 to 2018, with a thesis entitled 'The Impact of the Cervical Lordosis on Postural Sway Parameters in Asymptomatic Participants,' centered on clinical biomechanics and cervical spine neurology. His research focuses on cervical spine alignment, including lordotic and non-lordotic subtypes, their influence on balance control, and anatomical knowledge retention among health science students. Daffin is associated with the Musculoskeletal Health research group within the School of Allied Health and holds ORCID iD 0000-0002-3549-9652, identifying as an anatomist and neuroanatomist.
Daffin's scholarly contributions include several peer-reviewed publications. Notable works are 'Implications for the assessment of upright standing posture: An investigation of the reproducibility of a postural assessment tool' (Musculoskeletal Science and Practice, 2024, with Stanley Innes and Max C. Stuelcken); 'An investigation of the reproducibility of key measurement parameters derived from specific radiographic views of the cervical spine: A study of asymptomatic young adults' (Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies, 2024); 'Testing the association between shoulder pain prevalence and occupation in an Australian subpopulation' (Chiropractic & Manual Therapies, 2023, with Christopher J. Hodgetts, Angela Jacques, and Yvonne C. Learmonth); 'Internal and external sagittal craniovertebral alignment: The influence of posture and spinal curvature on head and neck alignment' (Clinical Biomechanics, 2019); and 'The effect of backpack loading position on postural stability in young adults' (Work, 2023). He has co-authored nine research works accumulating 58 citations on ResearchGate and serves as a supervisor for doctoral theses, such as 'Shouldering the Load: An Investigation of Prevalence, Psychosocial Correlates, and Occupational Risk Factors of Shoulder Pain' with Yvonne C. Learmonth. Known as a chiropractic anatomist, Daffin contributes to teaching human anatomy and chiropractic education at Murdoch University.
