Dr. Lee-Von Kim serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University, affiliated with the FBL Learning and Teaching Group and the FBL Faculty Operations Section at the Curtin Perth campus. In this role, she contributes to academic capacity development, professional learning initiatives, and teaching enhancement programs. She has led discussions on generative artificial intelligence in higher education as part of the Academic Capacity Development Team and participated in the 2025 Summit-Special Issue Conference. Dr. Lee-Von Kim is a member of the Australasian Academic Integrity Network (AAIN) Generative AI Working Group, contributing to the 2023 AAIN Generative Artificial Intelligence Guidelines. She co-presented an interactive session at the ISSOTL 2021 conference titled 'Students, peers, partners: embedding sustainability in a formal academic development program' with Joanne Castelli. Additionally, she collaborated in research sessions on AI's impact on education and work with Professor Patrick Dunlop and Associate Professor Nik Thompson during an ACSES Visiting Scholar event. Dr. Lee-Von Kim has been involved in the Curtin Faculty of Business and Law Steering Group.
Prior to joining Curtin University, Dr. Lee-Von Kim held positions at the University of Western Australia in the School of Humanities, Discipline of English and Literary Studies, and at the University of Oxford as a TORCH Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow. Her scholarly work has centered on the intersections of literature, visual cultures, life-writing, photography, and film. She delivered lectures including 'Between Photography and Film in Contemporary Art' at the University of York, 'Still life writing' in the Literature and Visual Cultures Research Seminar, and 'Objects and Subjects in Claude Cahun's Disavowals'. She co-organized the 'Intimate Archives: Photography and Life-Writing' conference at Oxford. Key publications include 'Autobiographical Revisions: Photography in Roland Barthes by Roland Barthes and Claude Cahun's Disavowals' (Auto/Biography Studies, 2014), co-edited 'Self-regarding: Looking at Photos in Life Writing' (Life Writing, 2015), 'Giving spaces/spaces of giving: accommodation in Floating Life' (Studies in Australasian Cinema, 2009), 'Creating Gender Inclusive Engineering and Science Classes: Establishing Baseline Experiences, Perceptions and Practices' (conference article, 2019), and 'Development of Educators' Resources for Creating Inclusive Engineering and Science Classes' (AAEE conference paper, 2019).
