Linda Fraser serves as a Lecturer in Health Services Management at Griffith University, where she imparts knowledge in health leadership and management to postgraduate students. Her impressive academic credentials include being a Registered Nurse (RN), holding a Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc), a Master of Advanced Practice (Critical Care), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Fellowship of the Australasian College of Health Service Management (FACHSM). These qualifications underscore her transition from clinical nursing to academic and managerial roles in healthcare.
In her research endeavors, Fraser has made notable contributions to health services management literature. She is a co-author of the 2024 publication in BMC Health Services Research titled "Revolutionising health and social care: innovative solutions for a brighter tomorrow – a systematic literature review," conducted with colleagues Jennifer Kosiol, Tracey Silvester, and Helen Cooper. This study systematically reviews literature to identify barriers and driving forces for successful health service innovation, emphasizing the roles of leadership, organizational culture, and resource allocation. Similarly, in 2023, she co-authored "Resource-based View: A new strategic perspective for public health service managers" in the Asia Pacific Journal of Health Management with Jennifer Kosiol, Anneke Fitzgerald, and Katrina Radford. The paper introduces the resource-based view as a framework for public health managers to leverage internal resources for sustainable performance. Fraser also contributed to the edited volume "Leading and Managing Health Services: An Australasian Perspective" published by Cambridge University Press, providing insights into leadership accountability. Her prior experience as Assistant Director of Nursing in Anaesthetics and Critical Care at Gold Coast University Hospital complements her academic work, offering practical perspectives on healthcare operations and critical care management. Through her publications and teaching, Fraser influences the development of future health managers.
