Dr Lisa Kruck serves as Senior Lecturer in Medical Education in the School of Medicine and Dentistry at Griffith University, within Griffith Health. She is the Academic Lead for the Doctor, Law, Ethics and Professional Practice (DLEPP) theme and leads the law, ethics, and professional practice program in the Doctor of Medicine curriculum. In these roles, she develops and delivers content that prepares medical students for the legal responsibilities, ethical dilemmas, and professional standards encountered in clinical practice. Based at the Sunshine Coast campus, she contributes to the training of future healthcare professionals through innovative teaching and curriculum leadership.
Kruck earned her PhD from Queensland University of Technology in 2015, with a thesis titled 'A values analysis of attitudes towards the use of law to prevent obesity: How might these values inform public health law.' This work analyzes how individual values shape attitudes toward legal measures in public health, particularly for obesity prevention, and their implications for public health law theory. Previously, as a research assistant at QUT's Australian Centre for Health Law Research, her research focused on the role of values in contemporary public health law and ethics and their application to policy decisions. Key publications include co-authoring the 'Audit tool for assessing child sexual abuse prevention content in school policy and curriculum' (Heliyon, 2019), an evidence-based instrument to evaluate prevention strategies in Australian primary schools, with adaptations for diverse and vulnerable children. She also contributed to the 'Scoping study for research into the prevalence of child abuse in Australia' (2016) and a 2019 submission to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety on topics including autonomy, elder abuse, and quality care. Dr Kruck has engaged in national forums, such as the Australian Medical Council's Programmatic Assessment Workshop (2017), and is listed on Griffith University's Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence honour board.
