Madeleine Mill is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Health at Southern Cross University, located on the Gold Coast campus. She is an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in emergency, intensive care, and higher education. As a passionate nurse educator and early career researcher, Madeleine's work is informed by a feminist philosophy emphasising equity, empowerment, and inclusion. This perspective drives her commitment to fostering meaningful change in education and healthcare and informs her exploration of future PhD studies.
Madeleine serves as Unit Assessor for Foundations of Health Assessment in the Bachelor of Nursing program. She teaches across the Bachelor of Nursing, Enrolled Nurse to Registered Nurse pathway, and Master of Nursing. Her research interests align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), with a focus on addressing workplace violence and gender equality within healthcare contexts.
In September 2025, Madeleine co-presented 'Beyond Clinical: Student-led Innovation in the Southern Cross Model' at the Centre for Teaching and Learning Showcase 2. Collaborators included Associate Professor Louise Ward, Dima Nasrawi, Kaylene Barchetta, Bernadine Romero, Donna Wilson, Katrina Austen, Dr Claire Hutchinson, Gabby La Forest, and Professor Jennene Greenhill from the Faculty of Health. Located at B7.53 on the Gold Coast campus, she contributes to nursing education and early research at the university.
