Mara Winick is a Professor in the Business Administration & Management department at the University of Redlands, where she teaches organizational behavior, organizational consulting, nonprofit management, and the capstone course in strategy. She earned her Ph.D. in management with a minor in sociology from Texas A&M University, an M.B.A. in business administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a B.A. in business administration from Trinity University. Prior to her current role, Winick served as a lecturer of management and organizational behavior at Texas A&M University and as adjunct faculty at St. Mary’s University. Her professional career includes positions as project manager at Winick and Associates, Inc., an organizational and management consulting firm in San Antonio, Texas; product, promotion, and real estate analyst at Church’s Fried Chicken Inc.; examiner at Republic Bank Corporation; and commercial and residential analyst at LWFW Inc. in Houston.
Winick’s research interests encompass organizational learning, assessment, and institutional effectiveness; experiential learning, civic engagement, and community-based management; as well as organizational behavior, strategy, and human resource management. She has secured legislative and private funding for public school research averaging more than $100,000 annually from 1998 to 2008, from sources including Texas Instruments, the U.S. Department of Education, California II/USP schools, and the Haynes Foundation. Her contributions have been recognized with the Frank J. Rice Memorial Service Award in 2016, national finalist status for the Thomas Ehrlich Civically Engaged Faculty Award in 2015, and the Outstanding Faculty Award in Innovative Teaching in 2014. Winick has built academic programs, served the university across various functions, and trained students whose teams have assisted more than 70 organizations, earning community and national recognition.
