Md Raisul Islam is an Associate Professor (Educator Track) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS), with a focus on thermal systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from NUS, awarded in 2003, and a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Prior to his current role at NUS, he served as a Senior Lecturer in the Engineering Science Programme at NUS and held positions at Curtin University.
His academic interests center on thermal systems, including air conditioning, refrigeration, energy efficiency, and applications in district cooling and data centre cooling. He has received multiple teaching awards from NUS, including the 2021 Annual Teaching Excellence Award (Individual) and the 2019-2020 Engineering Educator Award.
