Dr. Meagan Rogers is an Associate Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at the University of Texas at Arlington. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University, Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University, and PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2019. Prior to joining UTA faculty in 2011, Rogers worked as a charge nurse and clinical educator in pediatric emergency nursing. She holds certifications as Registered Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC), Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN), and Nursing Professional Development-Board Certified (NPD-BC). Rogers has served as Associate Chair for Undergraduate Nursing and contributed to university governance as a member of the Core Curriculum Committee.
Her research specializations include nursing education innovations, predictors of NCLEX-RN outcomes, virtual simulation integration, academic-practice partnerships, and experiences of rural nursing students. Rogers received a Nursing Education Research Initiative award for her project on rural nursing student outcomes and experiences. Key publications co-authored by her include "Predictors of NCLEX-RN Failure in Prelicensure Nursing Students" in Nurse Education Perspectives (2025), "Academic-Practice Partnerships, EHR in Nursing Curriculum, and the Value Equation" in Studies in Health Technology and Informatics (2024), "The Feasibility of Accelerating to Practice™ for Senior Baccalaureate Nursing Students' Capstone Experience" in Nurse Education Perspectives (2022), and "Considerations for the Effective Integration of Virtual Simulation into Undergraduate Nursing Curricula: A Survey Study" in Nurse Education Perspectives (2021). She was promoted to Clinical Associate Professor in Fall 2022 and awarded the 2021-2022 Nursing Faculty Leadership Mentor Award by UTA's College of Nursing and Health Innovation. Rogers has led initiatives such as telepresence robot implementation for remote clinical training during COVID-19, Smart Hospital skills training, and AACN Essentials progression indicators for clinical courses. Her contributions extend to webinars on data-driven nursing education and remote nursing assessments.
