Michael Adjemian is a Professor of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Georgia, contributing to the field of Business & Economics through his expertise in agricultural markets and commodity trading. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis (2009) and a B.S. in Finance with honors from the University of Florida (2001). Adjemian's career includes service as Senior Economist on the Council of Economic Advisers (2017-2018), Senior Research Economist at the USDA Economic Research Service (2016-2019), and Research Economist there (2009-2015). He joined UGA as Associate Professor in 2019, advancing to full Professor in 2024, while also consulting for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission since 2019.
His research specializations encompass agricultural commodity markets, futures markets, price discovery, USDA forecasts, market convergence, volatility, uncertainty, trade policies, and supply chain disruptions.
