Dr. Micheline Malow is a professor in the Department of Special Education within the School of Education at Manhattanville University, having joined the faculty in 2006. She serves as faculty liaison for the student chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children and teaches courses such as Foundations of Special Education, Child Development, and Research in Special Education. As a New York state-licensed psychologist, Dr. Malow brings extensive professional experience working with children and adolescents across clinical, residential, day treatment, and public school settings to promote optimal learning environments. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a specialization in School Psychology from The Graduate Center, City University of New York; a Master of Science in Education and Professional Diploma in School Psychology from Queens College, City University of New York; and a Bachelor of Science from the College of Human Ecology at Michigan State University. She has co-authored the book Adolescents and Risk: Making Sense of Adolescent Psychology, published by Praeger Publishers in 2008 with Patrick B. Johnson. Her publications include articles on mindfulness for students classified with emotional/behavioral disorder (2016), the implications of a system-wide positive behavioral intervention initiative (2016), school administrators' perceptions of critical teacher skills (2023), and teacher efficacy perceptions among secondary students with emotional and behavioral disorders (2011).
