Professor Michelle Carr is a Professor of Accounting at the Cork University Business School, University College Cork, where she also serves as Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance. Her research interests centre on the relationship between the operation of management control practices and their effect on motivation and performance. She investigates management control change, including pathways to the future of work, accounting practices and professional power dynamics during crises, clinician responses to management control in fiscal crises, planning for business cycle fluctuations in budgeting, and professional responses to cost-containment constructs.
