Michelle Petrie serves as the Postgraduate Administrator and Administrator Client Services in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Otago, Dunedin School of Medicine, within the Faculty of Medicine. She holds the New Zealand Certificate in Sciences (NZCS) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Science (PGDip Sci). Her responsibilities include supporting postgraduate activities at Dunedin Hospital, 2nd Floor, contributing to the smooth operation of the department's administrative and client services.
Petrie has contributed to research outputs through conference presentations. In June 2009, she co-authored and delivered a verbal presentation titled 'The impact of fermentation conditions on the fatty acids and cholesterol profiles of a salted-fermented roe product from hoki (Macruronus novaezelandiae) eggs' at the New Zealand Institute of Food Science & Technology (NZIFST) Conference in Christchurch, New Zealand. In November 2008, she co-authored a poster session 'Impact of fermentation conditions on the quality of karashi mentaiko from Hoki' at the Functional Foods Conference in Auckland, New Zealand. She is regularly acknowledged in University of Otago postgraduate theses for providing technical laboratory assistance, including support with HPLC, GC-MS analysis, microbiology, and sample processing in food science and related research projects.
