Rate My Professor Mike Davis

Associate Professor Michael Davis is Head of Te Pare School of Architecture, Planning and Design at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland. He is the first person of Pacific heritage to hold this leadership position. Davis has been with the university for nearly two decades and previously served as Director of Architecture Programmes. His research includes projects on identifying reusable building materials from houses damaged in cyclones and exploring Pacific architectural practices, such as the historical work of the Leger family in Tonga. He emphasizes creating pathways and opportunities for Māori and Pacific students in architecture and design while honouring ancestral traditions in building and design across the Pacific region.
