Morgan Titmus serves as a Lecturer in the Curtin School of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Sciences, part of the Curtin Medical School within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University. His research centers on innovative applications of digital technologies in anatomical education, including photogrammetry for generating photorealistic 3D models of cadaveric specimens and design thinking approaches to develop comprehensive 3D digital libraries of anatomical resources. Titmus has contributed significantly to this field through peer-reviewed publications that outline practical workflows and evaluate student perceptions of these technologies.
In 2023, Titmus was the corresponding author on 'A workflow for the creation of photorealistic 3D cadaveric models using photogrammetry,' published in the Journal of Anatomy. He devised the study concept, acquired data alongside collaborators, interpreted results, and drafted the manuscript. The project received funding from a Curtin University Early-Mid Career Academic Grant. In 2024, he co-authored 'Using design thinking to create and implement a 3D digital library of anatomical specimens' in Clinical Anatomy, supported by seed grants from Curtin Academy, Curtin School of Allied Health, and Curtin Medical School. This work facilitated multimodal learning with 360-degree visualizations mimicking physical specimen interaction. Additional publications include 'Student perceptions of photogrammetric 3D cardiac models generated by use of a smartphone and high-resolution camera' (Journal of Visual Communication in Medicine, 2025) and 'Validating the Threat of a Virtual Reality Clinical Environment: A Mixed-Methods Study' (Applied Sciences, 2024). Titmus received the Curtin Student Guild Excellence in Teaching Award in the Undergraduate category for the Faculty of Health Sciences. His five research works on ResearchGate have accumulated 34 citations, demonstrating contributions to spatial information and health sciences education.
