Dr. Myka Bussey-Campbell serves as the Associate Chair of the Department of Clinical Sciences and Program Coordinator for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program within the Waters College of Health Professions at Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus. With approximately 20 years of experience as an educator in the imaging profession, she joined Georgia Southern University in 2021, building on her prior role at Armstrong State University prior to its merger. She previously served as interim chair for the former Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Sciences. Bussey-Campbell is actively involved in university service, including membership on the Strategic Planning Committee, and oversees facilities such as the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab Suite (HPAB 142), Sonography Control Room (HPAB 144), and related phantoms and exam rooms supporting sonography training.
Bussey-Campbell holds a Bachelor of Radiologic Sciences from Augusta University, complemented by certifications as a Registered Radiographer (RT(R)) and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). She earned a Master’s degree in Adult Education with an emphasis on Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University (formerly Armstrong State University) and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Georgia’s Mary Frances Early College of Education in 2022. Her academic interests center on interprofessional education and collaboration in health professions. She has co-presented on key topics including “Offering Diverse Students Competency-based Interprofessional Learning Opportunities” (November 2022, with Janet Buelow, Yvonne Z. Dillon, Debra L. Hagerty, Shaunell McGee, Bobbie J. Newell, Steven Patterson, Paula Tillman), “Practical Grand Rounds – Collaboration with Diverse Professions Students” (March 2022, with Janet R. Buelow, Bobbie J.
