Dr Natalya Desai is a Lecturer in the School of Management and Marketing within the Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University. She serves as a Sessional Academic in the Centre for Enabling Pathways, part of the Office of the Provost. Dr Desai brings over 15 years of teaching experience, including eight years in higher education, where she has instructed undergraduate and MBA students. Her teaching portfolio includes coordinating aspects of MGMT1003 Strategic Career Design and tutoring MGMT3002 Managing Change in recent semesters.
In February 2026, Dr Desai was awarded her PhD from Curtin University's School of Management and Marketing. Her thesis, "Work System Adaptation during Organisational Change: A Study of System Change in Two Healthcare Settings," was presented for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Management) in January 2025. Supervised by Professor Mark Griffin, Professor Marylene Gagne, and Dr Georgia Hay, the research examines how healthcare work systems adapt during organizational change. It focuses on the implementation of a Remote Monitoring System and the Undiagnosed Diseases Program, exploring participant sense-making and adjustments to these AI-based technologies following implementation. The study advocates a dynamic perspective on organizational change, underscoring the necessity of employee involvement in technology adoption and work system redesign during the post-implementation phase. Dr Desai's doctoral work aligns with projects at the Future of Work Institute, investigating adaptation to new technologies in multidisciplinary healthcare units. She was selected as one of the best reviewers for the 2025 ANZAM conference by the Future of Work Institute at Curtin University.
