Noor Nazahiah Bakri holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Otago, awarded in 2024, where her doctoral research examined workplace oral health promotion, with a focus on interventions in the aged care setting. This work was conducted within the Health Promotion and Policy Research Unit (HePPRU) in the Department of Public Health at the University of Otago's Wellington campus, under the supervision of Moira B. Smith, W. M. Thomson, and Jonathan M. Broadbent. She also holds a Master of Science in Dental Public Health with Distinction from University College London, a Diploma in Dental Public Health from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Bakri is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Dentistry at UiTM's Sungai Buloh Campus, Malaysia, with research interests spanning oral public health, oral health promotion, e-learning, and accessibility in education.
Bakri has an extensive publication record in dental public health. Her recent works include the PhD thesis "Workplace oral health promotion: Exploring interventions in the aged care setting" (2024), which aligns with her thesis description of assessing healthy lifestyle promotion at workplaces and its relation to oral health-related quality of life. In "Key informants’ views on the benefits, planning and implementation of workplace oral health promotion programme" (Health Promotion International, 2025), she explored perceived benefits for aged care staff well-being and productivity, identifying facilitators and barriers such as management support, funding, collaboration, and sustainability. Other notable publications are "Oral health promotion activities in the workplace: a scoping review" (2023), "Workplace oral health promotion activities among community-aged care workers: A qualitative exploration" (2023), "Improving Nursing Oral Care Practice for Community‐Dwelling Care‐Dependent Older People" (2024), "Virtual counselling of tobacco cessation during the COVID-19 pandemic" (2023), "Knowledge, Attitude, and Perceived Harm of e-Cigarette Use Behaviour among Medical and Dental Undergraduate Students" (2022), and "Mapping the Malaysian Smoking Cessation Clinics" (2020). These studies demonstrate her impact on advancing preventive oral health strategies, particularly in workplace and community settings, and innovative uses of technology like GIS and augmented reality for health education and library accessibility.
