About Pasco

Professor Pasco Fearon is Chair of Developmental Psychopathology in the Division of Psychology & Language Sciences at University College London. He holds a PhD from University College London awarded in 1999 and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wales, Bangor awarded in 2004. His undergraduate degree was completed at Cambridge University.

Professor Fearon’s research focuses on the mechanisms of socio-emotional development and the processes involved in risk for psychopathology. He is particularly interested in the intersection between social and biological processes in children’s development. His work employs observational techniques for measuring family processes such as attachment and parenting, quantitative and molecular genetics for examining genes and gene-environment interactions, and biological measurements for capturing peripheral physiology and brain function. Much of his research involves longitudinal cohort studies and multivariate longitudinal data analysis. He serves as Deputy Editor in Chief for the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry. Professor Fearon is also affiliated with the University of Cambridge as Director of the Centre for Family Research and holds an adjunct position in the Child Study Center at Yale School of Medicine.
