Dr. Peter Christofides serves as Lecturer in Theology at the School of Philosophy and Theology, Fremantle Campus, University of Notre Dame Australia. He holds an Advance Diploma in Theology (Christian Education) from Rosebank Bible College, a BTh, an Honours degree in Theology (Practical Theology) from the University of South Africa (UNISA), an MA in Biblical Studies from the University of Johannesburg, a D Litt et Phil on peace and reconciliation from the University of Johannesburg, and a PhD on the rediscovery of the role of the laity in the mission of the church. His academic journey began after completing National Service in South Africa, where he engaged in practical ministry and media production before advancing into higher education leadership roles.
Christofides' career includes significant positions such as television producer in the Religious Department at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Principal of Rosebank Bible College, and Lecturer and Dean of Students at the Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa in Johannesburg, where he headed the Missions Department and the Biblical Languages Department. At Notre Dame Australia, he teaches Theology and New Testament Greek, supervises higher degree by research theses on topics including Johannine exegesis, worship in spirit and truth, and relational apophaticism, and pursues research interests in New Testament Greek and Theology. His publications appear in journals such as Theologica Evangelica, Ekklesiastikos Pharos, HTS Theological Studies, Journal for Semitics, Neotestamentica, and Practical Theology in South Africa.
