Rate My Professor Piergiorgio Percipalle

Professor Piergiorgio Percipalle serves as Professor of Biology, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs, and Program Head of Biology at New York University Abu Dhabi, where he is also a Global Network Professor of Biology. He earned his MSc in Molecular Genetics and his PhD in Molecular Genetics from the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste, Italy, with the doctoral degree also involving the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. Following his doctorate, Professor Percipalle completed postdoctoral work at the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, United Kingdom, focusing on nucleocytoplasmic transport mechanisms, and at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, where he investigated the functional architecture of the cell nucleus.

Before joining New York University Abu Dhabi, he held the position of Associate Professor of Cell Biology in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at the Karolinska Institute. He maintains a Guest Professor appointment in the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the Wenner-Gren Institute, Stockholm University. His research areas encompass molecular genetics and cell biology. Professor Percipalle has contributed to the editorial board of Experimental Cell Research and has an extensive record of publications in his field.
