About Qianqian

Qianqian Ni is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy degrees through an eight-year clinical medicine program at Nanjing University in China, completing her PhD in 2018. She subsequently completed postdoctoral training in the Laboratory of Molecular Imaging and Nanomedicine at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States, including work at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB).

Ni joined NUS in November 2021 as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. Her research focuses on the development of nucleic acid nanomedicines, with emphasis on DNA and RNA delivery systems, cancer immunotherapy, molecular imaging, and related applications in RNA therapy and immunoengineering, including RNA vaccines, cell therapies, and gene editing. She leads the Dr. Ni Qianqian Lab at NUS, which investigates innovative nanotechnologies for these purposes. Ni has received several awards and fellowships, including the Rising Talents of Precision Nanomedicine award in 2024, the Welman’s Award for Doctoral Thesis Excellence in 2018, the Shi Le Hui Fellowship from 2017 to 2018, the National Doctoral Fellowship in 2016, the NJU Graduate Scholarship in 2014, and the People’s Scholarship from 2012 to 2013. She is a member of the Italian Chemical Society since 2024. Her work contributes to advancements in nanomedicine and nucleic acid therapeutics, as evidenced by publications such as a 2025 review in Nature Reviews Bioengineering on dendrimer engineering for nucleic acid delivery challenges.
