Dr. Ramona Clark is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Griffith University's School of Allied Health, Sport and Social Work, part of Griffith Health. Serving as a senior clinical paediatric physiotherapist, she balances clinical practice with academic responsibilities as a lecturer and researcher. Clark leads the paediatric content within the Bachelor of Physiotherapy program, playing a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum for aspiring physiotherapists. She convenes undergraduate courses including Physiotherapy Across the Lifespan 2 (3408AHS) and Pathophysiology for Physiotherapy (2403AHS), delivered on the Gold Coast campus.
Clark completed her PhD at Griffith University in 2023, with a thesis entitled 'Development of a Paediatric Lower Limb Neurological (PeLLycaN) for children,' under the supervision of Andrea Bialocerkowski, Emmah Baque, and others. Her research focuses on paediatric physiotherapy, particularly the clinimetric evaluation of lower limb neurological tests for children with neurological conditions, standardisation of paediatric terminology in Australian health and education settings, and barriers to neurological assessments in children with cerebral palsy. Notable publications include 'Clinimetric properties of lower limb neurological impairment tests for children with neurological conditions: a systematic review' (Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology, 2017, co-authored with Melissa Locke, Bridget Hill, and Andrea Bialocerkowski); 'Paediatric terminology in the Australian health and health-education context: a systematic review' (Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology, 2015, co-authored with Melissa Locke and Andrea Bialocerkowski); 'Perceived Barriers, Enablers, and Modifications to Tests Assessing Lower Limb Neurological Impairments in Children With Cerebral Palsy' (Physical Therapy, 2021, co-authored with Emmah Baque, Cherie Wells, and Andrea Bialocerkowski); and contributions to international Delphi recommendations for paediatric lower limb neurological test protocols (2022). Through her publications and clinical expertise, Clark contributes to enhancing assessment reliability and clinical practices in paediatric rehabilitation.
