About Rawaa

Dr. Rawaa AlSayegh serves as Clinical Educator in Medicine in the Department of Medicine at RCSI Medical University of Bahrain. She earned her MB BCh BAO degree from RCSI National University of Ireland, along with LRCSI and LRCP qualifications. As a distinguished alumnus of RCSI Bahrain's School of Medicine, Class of 2019, she has built a career bridging clinical practice and medical education. Prior to her academic appointment, Dr. AlSayegh worked in the Department of Surgery at Salmaniya Medical Complex in Bahrain, contributing to clinical research during her early professional years, including during the COVID-19 pandemic response.

Dr. AlSayegh's research output includes several peer-reviewed publications focusing on surgical complications, pediatric emergencies, neurological cases, and public health. Notable works are 'Incidence of anal fistula after pyogenic perianal abscess drainage: Experience from a single center' (Annals of Medicine and Surgery, 2021, co-authored with Zainab A. I. Y. Hasan, Bayan Mohamed Hasan, and Raed Almarzooq); 'Laparoscopic assisted removal of multiple ingested magnets: A case report' (International Journal of Surgery Case Reports, 2021, co-authored with Zainab Khalaf and others); 'A case report of isolated abducens nerve palsy: idiopathic or Miller-Fisher syndrome?' (Egyptian Journal of Neurology, Psychiatry and Neurosurgery, 2021, co-authored with Zainab Irshad Husain and Hani Humaidan); and 'Depression Level and Burden of Care Among Family Caregivers of Older People With Physical and Mental Disability in Bahrain' (Global Journal of Health Science, 2019, co-authored with Ghufran Jassim, Alaa Alakri, and David Misselbrook). Additional contributions appear in studies on multiple magnet ingestion complications, perianal abscess recurrence risk factors, and a randomized controlled trial on favipiravir for mild-moderate COVID-19 (Scientific Reports, 2022).
