This interdisciplinary initiative involves Dr. Courtney Babb and Professor Steven Rowley from Curtin's School of Design and the Built Environment and Faculty of Business and Law, alongside researchers from RMIT University and UNSW Sydney. Approved by Curtin University Human Research Ethics Committee in September 2023, the project investigates data management and stakeholder coordination to lessen natural disaster impacts on housing. A featured scholarly output is the 2025 journal article by Perugia, Babb, Scherini, Rowley, Logan, Shirowzhan, Lu, and Pettit. In teaching, Scherini coordinates units including 'Understanding Governance in Planning' and 'Governance for Planning in Australia,' delivering essential instruction on planning governance frameworks.
