Associate Professor Sajib Mistry is a computer scientist and AI researcher in the School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science and Engineering, at Curtin University. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from RMIT University between 2013 and 2017, with a thesis titled Economic Model based Long-term IaaS Service Composition. Following his doctorate, he held a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at the School of Computer Science, University of Sydney, from March 2017 to February 2020. Since joining Curtin University in 2020, he has advanced to Associate Professor, and currently serves as Director of Graduate Research for the school and Course Coordinator for the Master of Computing program.
Mistry's research specializes in intelligent distributed systems, spanning federated learning, distributed machine learning, edge computing, service computing, cloud resource management, systems engineering, and agentic AI. His scholarly impact is evidenced by over 1,278 citations, an h-index of 17, and an i10-index of 27 on Google Scholar. Notable publications include Resilient composition of drone services for delivery (Future Generation Computer Systems, 2021), Long-Term QoS-Aware Cloud Service Composition Using Multivariate Time Series Analysis (2015), Layer-based Composite Reputation Bootstrapping (2021), and Privacy-Preserving QoS Forecasting in Mobile Edge Environments (2020). He has received the EMCR Research Collaboration Scholarship from DAIRNET in 2025 ($2,500) for Developing Machine Learning as a Service. A Senior Member of IEEE, Mistry serves on the AAAI 2026 Program Committee and as guest editor for special issues on service-oriented computing systems in Electronics.
