Professor Sally Everett is Professor of Business Education in the Business faculty at King’s College London. She holds a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Bristol (2000), an MSc in Tourism and Sustainability from UWE Bristol (2005), and a PhD in Tourism Management from UWE Bristol (2008), with her doctoral research focused on food and drink tourism in the 'Celtic' periphery. Her professional career commenced as Development Officer for the ss Great Britain Trust (2003-2007), followed by work at Pearson Education developing online courses in e-commerce, marketing, and MBAs. She then held research positions at the University of the West of England before joining the University of Bedfordshire as Senior Lecturer in Tourism, advancing to Head of Tourism, Leisure and Sport Management, and subsequently Head of Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality (2009-2013). From 2013 to 2018, she served as Deputy Dean for Business and Law at Anglia Ruskin University, co-leading the Women’s Network and BME Staff Network, and chairing the disability working group to advance inclusive curriculum.
Appointed as the inaugural Professor of Business Education at King’s Business School in January 2019, Professor Everett became Vice Dean (Education) in September 2019 until 2025, and currently holds the positions of Deputy Dean (interim) and Director of the I-LEAD Centre for Innovation, Leadership, Education and Development, while also serving as the academic lead for Inclusive Education at King’s College London. Her research specializations include innovation in business education, food tourism, visitor management, heritage interpretation, equity and diversity, decolonisation of curricula, assessment and feedback. Key publications encompass 'Food and Drink Tourism: Principles and Practice' (Sage, 2016), 'The Tourism, Hospitality and Events Student’s Guide to Study and Employability' (co-authored, Sage, 2020), 'Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Business & Management' (editor, Sage, 2025), and 'Decolonising Tourism Education' (Channel View Publications, 2026). She has garnered major awards including Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (2014), National Teaching Fellowship (2017), Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (2016), and Fellowship of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (2025). Professor Everett is Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the Association of National Teaching Fellows and a member of the Diversity Committee for the Chartered Association of Business Schools.
